Dr Van der Bent earned his PhD in 2021 on tattoo complications and has published more than 50 national and international scientific papers on the subject. As a board member of the European Society of Tattoo and Pigment Research and organiser of the 2021 World Congress on Tattoo and Pigment Complications, he is internationally recognised as a pioneer in this field.

He runs in-person clinics at Alrijne Hospital in Leiden and at DC Klinieken Amsterdam Lairesse on Thursdays. If a biopsy or treatment is needed, you hear that within the same 12 to 48 hours and he refers you to his own clinic.
